DEC O72001
Imo❑ Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, Inc.
■ P.O. Box 2222 • St. Cloud • Minnesota• 56302-2222
DATE: December 5, 2001
TO: Housing &Redevelopment Authorities
County Commissioners
Economic Development Authorities
Community Action Councils
Rural Development Offices
FROM: Sheri Harris
RE: HOME Rental Rehabilitation Program funding availability
The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) anticipates that HOME Funds will be available
for rehabilitation of rental properties in 2002. Last year the Central Region received an allocation
of approximately$1.7 Million and it is expected that the funding amount will be similar to that in
2002.
• Applications are currently being accepted for this program at Central Minnesota Housing
Partnership (CIvII-P) offices until February 15, 2002. Counties included in the CMI{P's service
area include Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Chisago, Crow Wing, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine,
Stearns, Todd, Wadena, and Wright. This program offers owners of rental property a 0%
deferred loan rehabilitating their buildings. Repayment is based on project need and a five-year
compliance period. Eligible building improvements include but are not limited to roofing, siding,
windows, major systems updating, floor coverings, and painting.
Please forward this information to interested rental property owners and have them contact me to
obtain application materials needed for the Febru. 15 deadline. Applications will be evaluated
through selection criteria established for the central region. Owners will be notified of the status
of their project after a review of all applications is completed.
As administrators for the HOME Funds in the Central Region, Central Minnesota Housing
Partnership is interested in working with rental property owners to preserve existing affordable
housing through the HOME Program. For further information on the program requirements and
application materials, please contact Deanna or myself at 320/259-0393.
•
PH 320.259.0393 —A MINNESOTA NONPROFIT CORPORATION— E-MAIL cmhp810 @cloudnet.com
MN TDD 1.800.627.3529 EQUAL LHO SING WEB PAGE cmhp.net
FAX 320.259.9590 OPPORTUNITY
Reasonable accommodations are available
