VII. Inundation Maps <br /> The purpose of an Inundation Map is to provide a picture of the area that would be <br /> affected by a complete failure of the dam in order to determine who must be notified <br /> and/or evacuated in an emergency. The Inundation Map should clearly identify <br /> residences, businesses, storage facilities, bridges, downstream dams and other <br /> structures such as roads, power lines, sewer, gas and water lines and other <br /> infrastructure that could be affected by the failure of the dam. There is currently one (1) <br /> residence that could potentially be affected. The Main Street Bridge could also <br /> potentially be affected, although not expected to overtop during a dam failure. <br /> The Inundation Map for the Elk River Dam was produced in March 2015, based on the <br /> information from the dam failure analysis conducted by Ayres Associates. The <br /> Inundation Map—which also shows the potentially affected residence—can be found on <br /> the following page. <br /> For further information on the dam failure analysis, see Appendix A. <br /> 174 <br />
