Public Relations Strategy <br /> Economic Development Newsletter <br /> The second edition of the attached Economic Development Newsletter, the Progress Partner <br /> Dispatch,was distributed in mid-May to over 200 people representing the following groups: <br /> • Elk River manufacturers <br /> • High-tech companies located in Anoka, Sherburne, and Wright Counties <br /> • Past&present prospects/inquiries <br /> • Key accounts <br /> The purpose is to inform businesses of information useful to their operations and present an <br /> "open for business"image. <br /> MN Technology Partnership Program <br /> Staff submitted a grant application to the Initiative Foundation on May 13th regarding a pilot <br /> partnership program between the City of Elk River and MN Technology, Inc. (MTI). The <br /> program is designed to recruit and retain strong manufacturing companies within the City of <br /> Elk River by providing them with technical training services. <br /> The Initiative Foundation approved the grant request in the amount of$5,000 as referenced <br /> in the attached letter. Staff will meet with MTI in mid June to discuss joint marketing and <br /> promotion of the program. <br /> • <br />
