THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />BENEFITS COMMITTEE <br />MARCH 3, 2000 <br /> MINUTES <br /> <br />Members Present: Scott Harlicker, Cheryll Edinger, Marc Nevinski, Joan Frick, Bob <br /> Mahutga, Lauren Wipper, Lori Johnson, Steve Tillmann <br /> <br />Lori went over the things we wanted to cover today which include: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br />3) <br />4) <br />5) <br /> <br />Input from employees - Department comments <br />Minutes from last meeting <br />Background <br />Member proposals <br />Next meeting <br /> <br />Bob brought some concerns from his department. They are: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />What about future increases? <br />Could family coverage be covered under same cap as single? <br />Is it right that employees are forced to do something else to cover their <br />families? <br />It's not a fairness issue but a needs issue. <br /> <br />Lauren had someone suggest to her that we drop dental from the Core benefits. <br /> <br />The minutes from last meeting were approved and should be distributed to employees. <br /> <br />Lori went over a brief background about the formation of the committee and current <br />insurance coverage demographics. The committee was formed to try to create a benefit <br />package that will help the City to: <br /> 1) Retain and recruit employees <br /> a. Flexibility <br /> b.
