- Section 2=-5 : CO <br /> SECTION 2145 - Park and Recreation Advisory Commission <br /> Section 24'5 : 00. Establishment. <br /> Subd. 1. There is hereby continued as heretofore created a <br /> Park and Advisory Commission. All members shall be residents <br /> of the City of Brooklyn Park. All member shall be appointed <br /> by the Council., for terms of three years , excepting the ex- <br /> officio members , who shall serve a one year term. Vacancy <br /> shall be filled for the remainder of the original term of office <br /> in the same manner as provided for original appointments . Three <br /> members shall be appointed from each of the three council dist- <br /> ricts of the City. Three members shall be appointed at large <br /> within the City and one member, who shall be an ex-officio mem- <br /> ber shall be a member of the Council , and there shall be one <br /> member vino shall be an ex-officio member who shall be e -a member <br /> of the Planning Commission. <br /> Subd. 2 . The members who need not be members of the Council, <br /> or the Planning Commission and who are presently serving on <br /> the Commission as of March 1 , 1973 , shall complete their desi- <br /> gnated two year terms ; the Council shall designate the terms <br /> of new members appointed from the Council districts and said <br /> appointments shall terminate on January 10 , 1976 . One new <br /> member at large shall be appointed to serve until January 10 , 1975 <br /> and one new member at large shall be appointed until January 10 , <br /> 1976. Subsequent appointment shall be for three year terms. <br /> A member' s term shall expire on January 10 , except that a member <br /> shall continue in office until his successor is duly appointed. <br /> The term of each appointment shall be designated by the Council <br /> at the time of the appointment and shall in no event be longer <br /> than three years but shall be staggered so that one third of <br /> the Commission representing each of- the Council districts shall <br /> be appointed each year. Following the appointment and selection <br /> of the full membership, the Commission shall meet and organize , <br /> adopt By-Laws and elect such officers for such terms as it deems <br /> desirable from the members . The ex-officio members shall not be <br /> • an officer of the Commission. - <br /> Section 245:05, Compensation. The members of the Commission shall serve <br /> without ray but may be reimbursed for actual expenses if funds therefor <br /> are provided in the adopted budgets of the Park and. Recreation Fund. <br /> Section 245:10. Duties. It shall be the duty of the Commission to hold <br /> meetings of- its members at least once a month on a regular scheduled meeting <br /> date, and to meet from time to time with the Manager, the Council, and the <br /> Director of Parks and Recreation to consider such matters pertaining to • <br /> parks arm public recreation programs in the City as shall be referred to <br /> the Commission by the Council, the Manager, the Director of Parks and <br /> Recreation, or as the members of the Commission deem proper. <br /> Section 245:15. Rerorts. The Commission shall make an annual report to <br /> the Manager and the Council not later than August 15, which report sh3» <br /> contain such details as the Council shall require, gcncerning its estimate <br /> of financial needs and its recommendations for the ensuing year.
