A discussion was held on who would attend the upcoming Steering Committee <br />meeting. It was decided that Shawn Donais and Rolfe Anderson would attend this <br />meeting. <br />Steve Rohlf pointed out the main issues that staff feels should be covered at this <br />meeting. Commissioner Dave Anderson requested Steve to prepare a memo for the <br />upcoming Steering Committee meeting. <br />6. Discussion on Lake Orono Master Park Plan <br />Chris Kreger, Planning Commissioner, arrived at this time (7:40 p.m.) <br />Chris Kreger explained the land use designation process. <br />COMMISSIONER DANA ANDERSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE <br />STEERING COMMITTEE THAT A "PARK" ZONING CLASSIFICATION BE <br />CREATED AND APPLY IT TO ALL EXISTING CITY OWNED PARKS. <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />A lengthy discussion was held regarding zoning of park land. <br />Jeff Asfahl, Area Recreation Coordinator and Commissioner Clair Olson arrived at <br />this time ($:25 p.m.). <br />Discussion was held regarding the Specht parcel. <br />COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON MOVED TO DESIGNATE THE SW <br />CORNER OF THE SPECHT PROPERTY REGIONAL PARK AND <br />DESIGNATE A GREEN BELT ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI (NO LESS THAN <br />75 FT.) COMMISSIONER DANA ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 6 -0. <br />6.1 Benches <br />This item was presented by Commissioner Tuttle. The City Council is requesting <br />specifics regarding this item. <br />COMMISSIONER TUTTLE MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY <br />COUNCIL TO PURCHASE THREE (3), $40 PARK BENCHES FROM <br />MENARDS. COMMISSIONER ROLFE ANDERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6 -0. <br />COMMISSIONER DANA ANDERSON MOVED TO HAVE STAFF <br />INVESTIGATE THE COST AND OPTIONS (FOR PROPERTY OWNER AND <br />CITY) FOR IMPROVING THE APPEARANCE OF THE WEST END OF THE <br />CINEMA BUILDING. COMMISSIONER DONAIS SECONDED THE <br />MOTION.
