TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EFFICIENCY OF CO-DEVELOPMENT
OF FACILITIES WHENEVER POSSIBLE, I.E., WHEN A NEW
SCHOOL IS BUILT.
4. COOPERATE IN THE CREATION OF A SINGLE ENTITY
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF COMMUNITY
ATHLETIC FACILITIES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL
DISTRICT (DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE, AND SCHEDULING
OF FACILITIES). THIS ENTITY WOULD LOGICALLY BE THE 728
AREA RECREATION OFFICE. EACH PARTICIPATING
JURISDICTION SHOULD HAVE REPRESENTATION ON THIS
GOVERNING BODY AND CONTRIBUTE (BASED ON
POPULATION) ITS SHARE OF THE COST FOR COMMUNITY
ATHLETICS WITH: FACILITIES, CASH, EQUIPMENT, STAFF
TIME, OR A COMBINATION OF THESE. STAFF SUPPORTS THE
IDEA OF RESIDENTS FROM A NON-PARTICIPATING
JURISDICTION PAYING A HIGHER USAGE FEE.
5. HOST A JOINT MEETING WITH APPROPRIATE BOARDS FROM
THE OTHER JURISDICTIONS, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND THE
• VARIOUS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATIONS TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE
OF COMMUNITY ATHLETICS.
•
p&r-ca.doc
