City Council Minutes
February 14, 2000

Page 4

Discussion was held regarding the possibility of remodeling Parker School into a
jointly used facility. It was noted that this may not work because the layout of the
school is somewhat "space specific" not allowing for a multi-use type of space.

The council discussed types of uses the city would want to put in this building.
Meeting space was identified as a need in the community, however, it was
questioned whether this should be a public or private venture. It was noted that it
is difficult to talk about concepts without having any costs to consider.
Councilmember Thompson indicated that he would try to get some generalized
cost estimates for a few different concepts.

Mayor Klinzing suggested that discussions regarding this issue continue and that
the city administrator talk to Charlie Blesener to find out what the school district
needs are for this type of facility.

8. Adjournment

There being no fudher business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meeting at 9:50 pm.

Sandra Peine
City Clerk
