Elk River City Council Minutes <br />January 10, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the council to make no decision until the Police Chief could <br />be present to discuss the issue with the City Council. <br /> <br />5.8, <br /> <br />Accept Resi.qnation of Administration Secretary Joni Pearson, Request to Promote <br />Current Secretary/Receptionist to Administration Secretary Position, and Request to <br />Advertise for Position of Secretary/Receptionist <br /> <br />City Clerk Sandra Peine noted that Administration Secretary Joni Pearson has <br />submitted her letter of resignation. The City Clerk requested to promote existing <br />Secretary/Receptionist Tina Allard to the position of Administration Secretary. She <br />further requested authorization to advertise for the position of <br />Secretary/Receptionist. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ACCEPT JONI PEARSON'S LETTER OF <br />RESIGNATION. COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz commended Joni Pearson on her past performance as <br />Administration Secretary. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO PROMOTE TINA ALLARD FROM <br />SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST TO ADMINISTRATION SECRETARY, MOVING HER TO PAY <br />GRADE 6, STEP B, AT $12.05 PER HOUR EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2000. <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR THE <br />POSITION OF SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST. COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Staff Updates <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers noted that the council may be requested to have a <br />special meeting on February 7, 2000 to meet jointly with the School Board and the <br />other governmental units in the school district. He further noted that the Park and <br />Recreation Commission has requested to meet with the City Council on February <br />28, 2000. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the council to it would be available to meet jointly with the <br />School Board on February 7, 2000 and with the Park and Recreation Commission <br />on February 28, 2000. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />7.1. January 12 Anoka-Hennepin Technical Colle.qe Public Hearin,q <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing updated the City Council on the status of the Anoka- <br />Hennepin Technical College. She noted that MnSCU will be holding a <br />public hearing on January 12 to determine the future of Anoka-Hennepin <br />Technical College. <br /> <br /> <br />
