• 5. Consider Conducting Oral Interviews in 2003 <br /> Commissioner Kragness handed out a sheet titled, "Things to Consider in <br /> Planning an Oral history Project". The Commission will come to the May <br /> meeting prepared to discuss the items contained on that sheet. <br /> 6. Discuss Literature Search and Archaeological Modeling Grant <br /> Stephen Rohlf informed the Commission that the city will be receiving a grant for <br /> this work. Mr. Rohlf further indicated that both him and Commissioner Kragness <br /> had received phone calls from University of Minnesota Students who are <br /> interested in helping with this effort and that Professor Guy Gibbon is interested <br /> in doing on-going archaeological field work in Elk River as part of a University <br /> class. It was also reported that the State Archaeologist is extremely excited about <br /> potential historic sites in Elk River. <br /> 7. Comprehensive Planning Process Discussion <br /> The Commissioner Lundberg indicated that he had a comfort level with the <br /> proposed "Old Town"designation,but how zoning is applied could affect sites <br /> that have local historic significance. <br /> • 8. Other Business <br /> Commissioner Olson indicated that she is moving to Big Lake Township. Other <br /> Commission members stated that not being an Elk River resident no longer <br /> precludes membership on city commissions. <br /> 9. Discuss Items to be on the May 8th Agenda. <br /> The Commission decided that they will discuss the particulars of conducting oral <br /> interviews and the archaeology project at their next meeting. <br /> 10. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, the meeting of the Elk River HPC was adjourned <br /> at 7:49 p.m. <br /> p <br />
