6. Discuss Literature Search and Archaeological Modeling Grant <br /> Kurt Kragness informed the HPC that two University of Minnesota archaeology <br /> students, who are interested in participating in Elk River's efforts, had contacted <br /> him. Professor Guy Gibbon, of the U of M's Anthropology Department, had <br /> informed these students of Elk River's pending project. Mr. Gibbon had been <br /> discussed earlier as a potential project manager. Stephen Rohlf informed the <br /> Commission that city funding for this effort was still in question due to severe <br /> budget concerns, especially if a grant is not received. <br /> 7. Comprehensive Planning Process Discussion <br /> The Commission discussed the proposed"Old Town" concept being developed as <br /> a component of the Comprehensive Plan. Members of the HPC that are part of <br /> the Comprehensive Plan Committee will continue to monitor this and other issues <br /> that relate to the HPC's responsibilities and report back to the group. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Commissioner Lundberg discussed the Elk River Rotary Club's project involving <br /> the original bell from the Elk River School. Commissioner Kragness discussed <br /> his consultation with the Minnesota Historical Society in regards to Handke <br /> Stadium being added to the National Register. Commissioner Olson discussed the <br /> possibility to have past issues of the Elk River Star News (and Sherburne County <br /> • Star News)placed on disc and offered for sale. <br /> 9. Discuss Items to be on the April 10th Agenda. <br /> The Commission decided that most of the issues on their March agenda will need <br /> to be discussed again in April. <br /> 10. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, the meeting of the Elk River HPC was adjourned <br /> at 8:45 p.m. <br /> • <br />
