MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER <br /> • HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> THURSDAY, MAY 9,2002 <br /> Members Present: Cliff Lundberg, Jim Nord, Kurt Kragness, Cindy Olson and Pat <br /> Dwyer <br /> Members Absent: Jeff Gongoll and Bud Houlton <br /> Staff Present: Stephen Rohif <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the regular meeting of the Elk River <br /> Heritage Preservation Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 2. Consider 5/9/02 Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER OLSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. <br /> COMMISSIONER NORD SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> • 3. Consider 4/11/02 Minutes <br /> The Commission noted that the minutes incorrectly stated Monday, April 11 <br /> instead of Thursday. <br /> COMMISSIONER OLSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/11/02 <br /> MINUTES WITH THURSDAY REPLACING MONDAY. COMMISSION <br /> DWYER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 4. Consider Items on Planning Commission 5/28/02 Agenda <br /> The Commission reviewed the items on the 5/28/02 Planning Commission agenda <br /> and felt there were no conflicts or issues regarding the preservation of the city's <br /> heritage with one potential exception. Although proposed on an existing lot, <br /> STM's request is close to a known State Historic Preservation Office site. <br /> COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL THAT A CONDITION BE PLACE ON STM'S <br /> APPROVAL THAT ANY ARTIFACTS DISCOVERED ON THE <br /> PROPERTY BE REPORTED TO THE CITY IMMEDIATELY AND THAT <br /> THE CITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE ADDITIONAL <br /> MEASURES, INCLUDING HALTING CONSTRUCTION, IF <br /> WARRENTED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRETY OF THE SITE. <br /> • COMMISSIONER NORD SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br />
