Retaliation <br /> against any employee for making a complaint under this policy or assisting with <br /> investigations of complaints made under this policy is also strictly prohibited. <br /> Any person who feels that s/he has been discriminated against should contact the city <br /> administrator or Human Resources. <br /> Employment Status Definitions <br /> Full-Time - : A regular work schedule consisting of 2,080 hours per year. <br /> Part-Time - : A regular work schedule of less than 2,080 hours per year, generally <br /> over the 12 months. <br /> Orientation Period. - First six months of initial employment, following a <br /> promotion, reassignment or transfer. <br /> Regular - --.An employee who has completed his or her Orientation Period. <br /> Seasonal- : A position assigned to work part of the year, typically not form more <br /> than one hundred twenty (120) days in any consecutive 12-month period. <br /> Temporary - : A part- or full-time position scheduled to work with a defined start <br /> and termination date or duration of a special project. The position does not qualify for <br /> benefits or seniority credit. <br /> Elected or Appointed Official- =A person elected as Mayor or Councilmember or a <br /> person appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve on a city commission or board. <br /> Applicant - -. Any person applying for a paid or volunteer position. <br /> Work Rules <br /> In accepting employment with the City of Elk River, employees become representatives of <br /> the city and are responsible for assisting and serving the residents for whom they work. <br /> Employees shall exhibit conduct that is ethical, professional, responsive, and of standards <br /> becoming of a city employee.
