Page 2 Id Contributed to the acquisition, development, or conveyance of land, buildings, <br /> structures, or other amenities to the city or community <br /> Lions Park and Lions Park Center <br /> John built the Lions Park Center, calling in many favors and donations from other <br /> businesses to keep the cost low. He donated a substantial amount and his entire contracting <br /> fee and spent many extra hours on the project. He and his family worked alongside other Lions <br /> and their families planting the trees in the park. The Lions gave the building and park to the city <br /> of Elk River. <br /> Elk River Boys and Girls Club <br /> In 1999 the Boys and Girls Club of Elk River benefited when John donated his <br /> entire contracting fee, as well as called in many favors and did much "arm twisting" of others in <br /> the construction field in order to get a $664,000 Boys and Girls Club built in Elk River. His many <br /> hours many nights a week were used in meetings with city, staff, and others in order to get this <br /> project completed in record time. He also served on their board of directors for many years <br /> Lions' Food Booth at Sherburne County Fairgrounds <br /> John built the Lions food stand at the Sherburne County Fair grounds. His skid <br /> steerers worked at the Fair demolition derbies clearing the track.
