Elk Elk River Comprehensive Plan <br />River <br />Introduction <br />Housing is an important component of all communities. Not only do <br />the quality, availability, affordability, and diversity of housing enhance <br />the quality of life in the City, it also supports economic development <br />and contributes to a community's sense of place. Many business <br />owners look at the type and supply of housing in a community when <br />considering locations for opening or expanding their business. In <br />return, the location and expansion of businesses within the City serves <br />the population and attracts more businesses which keeps the cycle of <br />growth and development vibrant. <br />Housing is not a single, one size fits all, commodity. Personal housing <br />needs change as life passes from young, single adult to family to <br />elderly.
