Miller, Jessica
Subject: FW: Putting a road through Woodlands Trail Park
From. CenturyLink Customer [mailto:rbblls@_q.cpm]
Sent: Sunday, May 04, 2014 4:22 PM
To: Barnhart, Jeremy
Subject: Putting a road through WoodlandsTrail Park
To the Elk River Planning Commission, and City Government Leaders
The proposal to a put a road through Woodlands Park would be a grave mistake for the community. You can not build
the natural features that you are blessed with at Woodlands you can only destroy them. The trail system at Woodlands
that has been built by community volunteers is one of the finest in the state. It is the envy of thousands of skiers from
multiple surrounding states, I have personally seen license plates from 6 states in our parking lot on a single day. The
fact that our high school Cross-Country Ski teams have Woodlands to practice on is one of the main reasons our kids
are known to be some of the best technical skiers in the state. To dissect the park with a road for heavy truck traffic will
totally ruin forever the Cross-County ski and winter walking trail system. You have the only groomed winter walking
trails in the state. Hundreds of people use these trails every week to ski and walk their dogs in the woods, away from
traffic to enjoy winter silence. With a road going through the park, Woodlands will no longer be a destination for young
families to take children for a walk or learn to ride there bikes in the summer or enjoy the quiet of the winter woods.
The citizens of Elk River have volunteered 100's of thousands of hours of labor over the years to build and maintain
tl-.iis systern please do not destroy it.
Rob, 'I'am,& Jesse Bullis
19088 Dodge St NW
Elk River, MN
