Minnesota School of Business- Elk River <br />College Campus <br />Minnesota School of Business Elk River campus is <br />located off of Highway 169 at 11500 193rd Avenue. <br />The Elk River Campus opened its doors in 2009 <br />and offers career focused college degree programs <br />in business, accounting, technology, veterinary <br />technology, health and legal science fields. While <br />relatively new to the City, student enrollment and <br />faculty have grown since its inception. Internship <br />opportunities provide an excellent way to engage the <br />students in City government and provide assistance to <br />local businesses throughout the City. <br />Religious Institutions <br />These institutions are an important part of the <br />social fabric of the City and have a large impact <br />on the community. With a variety of faith based <br />options for the City's residents, religious institutions <br />add to the quality of life in a town the size of Elk <br />River. They provide opportunities for neighbors to <br />connect, socialize, and they also provide employment <br />opportunities. <br />118 / Chapter 1 1 : Community Facilities <br />Elk River comprehensive Plan <br />Cemeteries <br />Four cemeteries are located in Elk River including: <br />Meadowvale Cemetery, organized in 1895, located <br />off of Meadowvale Road NW approximately two <br />miles north of County Road 33 (a portion of the <br />cemetery is located within Livonia Township; <br />Orono Cemetery, graves dating back to 1855, <br />located on the south side of Lake Orono in the <br />western portion of the City; <br />St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, organized in 1891 <br />with records dating to the 1860's, located south of <br />193rd Avenue and west of Highway 169; and <br />Vernon Cemetery, organized in 1915 with land <br />deeded in 1878 and some burials first seen in <br />1855, located two blocks west of Evans Street on <br />Railroad Drive in Elk River. <br />The cemeteries have sufficient available space to <br />meet the anticipated demand for burials in cemeteries, <br />at least through the year 2040. <br />4th <br />v <br />OF JULY <br />ELK <br />RIVER <br />' ASo <br />mmunity Events <br />City of Elk River has many <br />)rations and community events <br />throughout the year. These events <br />help define Elk River's unique sense <br />of place and contribute to the City's <br />high quality of life. Some key <br />events include, but are not limited <br />to ArtSoup Community Art Festival, <br />4th of July Elk River, Taste of Elk <br />River, Shiver Elk River, and the <br />Riverfront Concert Series. <br />
