Implementation Considerations <br /> <br />Implementation of any construction project will have an impact on the <br />environment of the area. Using appropriate erosion control methods and careful <br />monitoring of construction activities can minimize the temporary, shod-term <br />negative effects of construction. <br /> <br />The primary environmental impacts associated with this construction would be <br />potential erosion and loss of trees and vegetation. The potential erosion <br />problems can be avoided through proper planning in the design phase of the <br />project. Construction plans for the project would include an erosion and <br />sediment control plan. During construction, it will be vital that sufficient <br />observation of the contractor be maintained to identify and ensure correction to <br />any potential erosion problems. <br /> <br />VII. Permits <br /> <br />The proposed improvements will <br />agencies including: <br /> <br />plan approval by various <br /> <br />· National Pollution Discharge <br /> excavation and grading. <br />· A Minnesota Board <br /> reconstruction ~mpa! <br />· Minnesota De atural Resources, Public Waters Permit will need <br /> to be obtained be, ~e project would Impact Elk River. <br />· Minnesota Department of Transportation right-of-way permit for work within <br /> the TH 10 right-of-way. <br /> <br /> System (NPDES) permit for site <br />Resources (MBWSR) permit if the <br /> <br />VIII. Estimated Project Costs <br /> <br />The estimated project cost for these Improvements has been prepared and <br />includes the following: <br /> <br />Estimated Storm Sewer Construction <br />Estimated Street Construction <br /> <br />$ 29,600 <br />$148,400 <br /> <br />Total Construction Cost $178,000 <br /> <br />Contingency (10%) <br />Overhead (28%) <br />Right-Of-Way Preparation <br /> <br />$ 17,800 <br />$ 54,85O <br />$ 10,000 <br /> <br />Total Project Costs $260,650 <br /> <br />The overhead costs include funds for administration, legal, fiscal, engineering <br />design, preparation of plans and specifications, and field surveying and <br />inspection. The contingency costs are estimated at ten percent. The unit prices <br />for construction costs are based on actual bid tabulations from recent local <br /> <br /> <br />
