4. Conducts education and training. <br /> A. Coordinates and conducts public education on crime prevention,personal/business <br /> security, and traffic safety. <br /> B. At the direction of the patrol captain,plans, coordinates, schedules, and conducts <br /> department training. <br /> 5. Manages crime scenes. <br /> A. Responds to and/or supervises crime scenes; directs other responding units; <br /> identifies, obtains, and secures evidence. <br /> B. Identifies and interviews witnesses,victims, and suspects. <br /> C. Prepares crime reports and assists the investigator as needed. <br /> D. Assists prosecuting attorneys with the preparation of suit as directed;testifies; and <br /> coordinates the appearance of witnesses. <br /> 6. Performs administrative duties. <br /> A. Perform administrative tasks as directed. <br /> B. Reviews hunting permit applications and issues hunting permits. <br /> C. Handles walk in reports when practicable. <br /> D. Schedules and conducts tours. <br /> E. Coordinates fleet maintenance and vehicle assignments. <br /> F. Reviews special event permit applications and schedules department resources. <br /> G. Assigns and schedules employee workload. <br /> H. Assists with internal investigations as directed. <br /> I. Compiles reports and statistical law enforcement data. <br /> J. Maintains patrol supplies and equipment inventory. <br /> 7. Performs supervisory activities. <br /> A. Directs and/or advises and/or assists officers with decisions and/or actions <br /> regarding calls, arrests, or other incidents. <br /> B. Directs officers in group activities. <br /> C. Monitors and directs adherence to department policies,procedures,performance <br /> standards, state, and constitutional law. <br /> D. Receives and investigates internal complaints. <br /> E. Performs timely annual performance reviews of all employees supervised. <br /> F. Encourages and assists employees with personal development and goals relating to <br /> their jobs. <br /> G. Recognizes and identifies training needs. <br /> H. Recognizes and/or identifies policy and procedure needs or changes and makes <br /> recommendation. <br /> L Provides corrective counseling and disciplinary measures or recommends disciplinary <br /> action, as appropriate within department guidelines. <br /> J. Maintains accurate and complete supervisory records regarding employees and <br /> designated responsibilities. <br /> 8. Performs other essential job duties. <br /> A.
