Elk River ^, <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Wade Lovelette—Superintendent of Technical <br /> John Dietz—Chair Services <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson—Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> February 11, 2014 6.1d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The Locating department had a total of 75 locate tickets in January; one of them <br /> being an emergency ticket, one cancelation, two meets, 59 normal tickets, two non- <br /> excavation and 10 updated tickets. <br /> • In January, the Security Systems Department had a total of 91 phone contacts, six <br /> systems quoted, seven system sales made, 11 installs completed, 30 service calls and <br /> six personal visits. The monthly Security Department financials are attached. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, <br /> hanging red-tags, meter read-outs and off-peak issues. They continue to change out <br /> the three phase meters to radio read meters. Jeff Murray has been promoted into the <br /> meter shop as an apprentice Electrical Technician. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on January 14th. The engines ran <br /> well with no problems. <br /> • Staff continues to collect data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • Jeff continues to conduct infrared tests on our electric system. He found some hot <br /> elbows in a three-phase transformer. The line crew did some switching to change out <br /> the elbows and while doing this they found a problem with one of the high side <br /> bushings. We will schedule an outage to change the transformer out. <br /> • ERMU has applied for the RP3 Award and the APPA Safety Award this year.
