C. Installs and maintains storm sewer systems and surface water drains D. Installs, maintains, and repairs concrete surfaces. E. Installs and maintains street signs. F. Maintains traffic control signage on work projects within the road right of way. G. Cuts or trims trees and brush on City property and road right of way. 4. Performs level 1 and 2 equipment maintenance activities. A. Performs daily lubrication level checks on vehicles and equipment that the employee is assigned to operate. B. Completes CDL checklist daily on all CDL vehicles that the employee is assigned to operate. C. Reviews general condition of vehicle exterior and operating systems. D. Performs oil changes. E. Replace normal vehicle wear items. ie: windshield wipers, cutting edges,light bulbs. 5. Performs general maintenance activities. A. Performs building (exterior and interior) and grounds maintenance as assigned. 6. Performs other essential job duties. A. Regular and timely work attendance. B. Follows all safety procedures. C. Participates in safety training. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ❑ Ability to provide effective leadership and positively motivate employees. ❑ Ability to communicate with the public in a calm and professional manner. ❑ Ability to establish and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and the public. ❑ Ability to delegate work. ❑ Ability to communicate orally and in writing. • Ability to utilize a computer to communicate with city staff,vendors and the public. • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. • Ability to operate heavy and light motorized street maintenance equipment. • Ability to perform light mechanical maintenance. • Ability to lift heavy objects,walk and stand for long periods, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse environmental conditions. • Ability to lift 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's license. • Two years of work experience as a level one street maintenance operator or equivalent. • Demonstrated ability to operate light and heavy equipment proficiently. Preferred Qualifications ❑ Related lead worker or supervisor experience. This Position Description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
