i
SurfSide Park /City of Mound
Exterior Sign Design & Wayfinding
Mound, Minnesota
Mound's most celebrated park, Surfside, contains a sand beach
on Lake Minnetonka, picnic facilities, park pavilion, boat launch
and open play area. The park is a favorite attraction for kids and
adults alike. Surfside Park and Beach is host to many fun - filled
events held annually. The Dakota Rail Trail, a hard surface biking
and walking trail, extends 21.3 miles from neighboring Wayzata
west to Mayer, and provides panoramic views of Lake Minnetonka
along the way.
In celebration of its centennial, Visual Communications designed
a double faced sign panel with all aluminum construction. The sign
provided vehicular and pedestrian identity while documenting the
parks rich history. The logo identification crest is finished in a modern
satin aluminum with copy and logo painted finish Matthews Acrylic
Polyurethane matte black. This handsome sign also features
individual aluminum letters and cast history plaques with raised
copy and boarder.
Ll Vill
VisualCommunications
475 Cleveland Avenue Noith Suite 223 Ivy League Place Saint Paul, MN 55104
