8 November 2013 <br />RaeAnn Gardner <br />City of Elk River <br />Master City -wide Gateway and Wayfinding Proposal <br />Visual Communications Similar Environmental Graphic Design Projects <br />Eden Prairie Twenty -Five Year Wayfinding Master Plan <br />Provided sign design and wayfinding master plan theory and preliminary design for this <br />unusual downtown zone named the "Major Center Area" (MCA) as part of an overall <br />streetscape improvement plan. The signage Master Plan included the integration of all <br />transportation modes, including walking, bicycling and transit. <br />Duluth Historic Skyline Parkway Identification and Wayfinding <br />Provided a fresh new logo for signage, wayfinding, brochures, and <br />commemorative posters. VCI created new brochure design to include a <br />comprehensive map and current tourist highlights. Also, VCI created a commemorative <br />poster for the city's promotional use. Built consensus with a variety of interest groups <br />including the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC), City of Duluth, <br />Historic Preservation Commission, Skyline Parkway Planning and Preservation Alliance <br />(SPPA),Visit Duluth, the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation Cultural Resources Unit, and the National Scenic Byways <br />Authority. <br />Mound Mound Harbor District Identification and Wayfinding <br />Visual Communications provided Design, Wayfinding, Specification, and Bid <br />Procurement services including 32 unique sign types from area identification to <br />directional maps, and standard regulatory signage. The sign design compliments the <br />area history as reflected in surrounding bridge design and the street landscape the <br />newly named "Mound Harbor District' includes a new wayfinding signage plan, which <br />addresses the flow of visitors in this multimodal community, comprising of transit stops, <br />bicycle trails, restaurants, shelters, public facilities, pertinent shopping and services, <br />residential and office areas. <br />Regional Transportation Board Logo Signage Design <br />Creation of new logo signage for 60,000 metro bus stops throughout the greater Twin City <br />Area. Included twenty transit users to participate in design consensus meetings. <br />Saint Louis Park City and Park Commons- Identification and Wayfinding <br />Visual Communications provided the city identification signage for the city's four (4) <br />main entrances. In addition, Park Commons is a multi -use redevelopment area of St. <br />Louis Park which includes existing and new development covering a 24 -block area. <br />Park Commons Signage Master Plan incorporates office, retail and residential <br />environments. Visual Communications logo design brings together the parklands and <br />prairie school influences that are historic in the area. <br />Saint Paul Exterior Pathfinder and Skyway Identification and Wayfinding <br />Provided design and wayfinding, and consensus building for the creation of exterior <br />wrought iron sign structures, park logos and downtown directional signs, including <br />Message Schedules and Location Plans. Worked with Mayor Coleman's office and the <br />St. Paul Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) to create interest, approval <br />and backing. Visual Communications also created designs for an interior Skyway <br />Connection signage system. <br />Saint Paul, Parks and Recreation Signage Master Plan <br />VCI teamed with Hoisington Koegler Group (HKGi) to provide a city -wide Signage Master <br />Plan to be utilized in the next 25 years with an immediate focus on Como Regional Park <br />tourism attractions, wayfinding, and parking amenities. Met with city and community <br />representatives at least three times to refine schematic concepts into an approved <br />signage and wayfinding plan. <br />Three Rivers Park District Wayfinding Master Plan <br />SRF Consulting Group teamed with Visual Communications for Project Management, <br />Construction Specifications, and Bid Procurement Services. <br />City of Wayzata Wayfinding Master Plan <br />Visual Communications provided vehicular and pedestrian Signage Wayfinding Master <br />Plan design and Specification Documents. Signage included city /park and recreation <br />informational and regulatory signage. <br />7 <br />
