The Permit(Part III.D.6.)requires that, within 12 months of the date permit coverage is extended,existing permittees shall <br /> revise their current program, as necessary, and continue to implement an operations and maintenance program that <br /> prevents or reduces the discharge of pollutants from the permittee owned/operated facilities and operations to the small <br /> MS4. Describe your current program: <br /> The City currently inspects its structural pollution control devices on an annual basis and inspects all of its outfalls, <br /> sediment basins and ponds every 5 years. The City inspects stockpiles, storage and material handling areas at the <br /> maintenance yard for potential discharges and maintenance of BMPs. The City is evaluating the use of road salt for winter <br /> road maintenance activities to reduce chlorides entering our water resources. The City sweeps streets once in the fall after <br /> leaf drop. Maintenance staff is trained annually on various topics related to pollution prevention during maintenance <br /> activities. <br /> 2.
