MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8. Discussion Items <br /> 8.A. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker asked the commission members to discuss if <br /> there was interest in stating the Pledge of Allegiance before each meeting. <br /> The commissioners discussed the option of starting each meeting by stating the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance,there was not enough interest within the group to start. <br /> 8.B. Bailey Point Nature Preserve Dedication <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker shared that there will be a dedication <br /> ceremony on August 14,for Bailey Point Nature Preserve at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 8.C. River's Edge Commons Park Merit Award <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker shared that the River's Edge Commons Park <br /> received a Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects. <br /> 8.D. Elk River Youth Football and Youth Lacrosse Field Donation <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker introduced members from the Youth <br /> Football and Youth Lacrosse Associations to discuss the possibility of a field donation to <br /> have the City build another 100 yard football field. <br /> Youth Football Association member Todd Raymakers, 10725 186ch Cir.NW, Elk River and <br /> Youth Lacrosse Association member Jeff Hendricks, 20055 156th St.,Elk River discussed <br /> that the two organizations are teaming up to donate financially to build a 100 yard football <br /> field. <br /> The Youth Football Association has set$25,000 aside and the Youth Lacrosse Association <br /> has set $8,000 aside. Each association will donate $5,000 a year for four years totaling <br /> $40,000. <br /> Mr. Raymakers shared that it takes two years to get a field ready to play and asked if it were <br /> possible to start this year. <br /> Commissioner Anderson clarified what amenities are at the Youth Athletic Complex now. <br />
