ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES EDUCATION / SEMINAR REPORT
DATE 10/2/2013
EMPLOYEE NAME Lorrie Franz
TITLE OF EDUCATION/SEMINAR MIC (Member Information Conference)
ORGANIZATION SPONSORING EDUCATION SEMINAR NISC
DATES ATTENDED 9/22-9/25
LOCATION St. Loius, MO
WHY DID EMPLOYEE CHOOSE TO ATTEND
Opportunity to research and prepare for the upcoming software conversion.
WHAT INFORMATION WAS LEARNED BY ATTENDING
This users conference was very well structured and implemented. We had an opportunity to meet NISC
staff as well as talk to other NISC members, including some that had recently transitioned off the soft-
ware that we currently use, onto NISC billing and accounting software. We were able to get a better
picture of what the software is capable of, as well as information about implementation. Several
specific classes were targeted to different accounting areas and how to use the functionality of the
software. The materials from the training will be useful when we implement. NISC is very innovative
in use of the software and technology, I am looking forward to driving toward these innovations. We also
had a tour of the HC and the printing and mailing facility.
WAS INFORMATION CONVEYED TO SUPERVISOR AND CO-WORKERS AND TO WHO
Initial feed back was shared with the office staff, a more formal session will follow on Oct. 14 and will
incorporate some of the training materials from NISC as well as a video taken at their facility and a
panel discussion with Q&A. Details have also been shared with Theresa Slominski.
L. Franz
SIGNATURE
135
