Promotions & Advertising Strategy <br /> Photos were taken at Display Solutions for the upcoming direct mail piece described below. <br /> The photos may also be used in upcoming ads. <br /> V. Public Relations Strategy <br /> Staff, Wolf Marketing& Media, and Tammy Miller Design are in the process of finalizing a <br /> direct mail piece for distribution to a targeted list of manufacturers located within the <br /> tri-county area. The piece will promote the Micro Loan Program and the Technical <br /> Assistance Program and will be mailed later this month. In addition, the Economic <br /> Development page of the City's Website is currently featuring both programs. <br /> VI. Strategic Partnership Strategy <br /> Downtown Revitalization Project <br /> Upon the adoption of a Tax Increment Financing Plan,it is anticipated that the HRA will <br /> consider a final Development Agreement with MetroPlains in November or December. <br /> VII. Business Retention Strategy <br /> Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Visits <br /> Staff, President Gongoll, and Commissioner Kuester met with Bryan and Gary of Supermats <br /> on Wednesday, August 11th for a facility tour and lunch. The following issues were <br /> discussed at the meeting: <br /> • Finding reliable, unskilled workers is a concern for the company. <br /> • The company is landlocked in its current location (opportunities were discussed). <br /> • Reasonable taxes and Elk River's competitiveness with other communities is very <br /> important to the company. <br /> • The company is open to providing Energy City tours (their product is nearly 100% <br /> recycled material) and becoming involved in the Education to Employment <br /> Program. <br /> Staff will contact EDA commissioners individually to schedule future BRE visits. <br /> • <br />
