Background Screening PolicyUUpdate <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker shared that City Council approved the <br /> Background Screening Policy and will affect all Parks and Recreation staff and volunteers <br /> who work with youth and at-risk population. The policy will take effect January 2014. <br /> 8.B. Skate Park <br /> Park Planner/Planner, Chris Leeseberg introduced Jake Ruprecht who gave a presentation <br /> regarding his vision in rebuilding the skate park. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek asked if the Commission were to direct staff to find a location for <br /> the skate park would Jake be willing to help in pursuing grants. <br /> Mr. Ruprecht stated he would be willing to help. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker stated that skate park grants that are out <br /> there require a location to be identified when applying. <br /> Several Elk River youth shared in the discussion about Lions Park not being a good location <br /> for the skate park in the future. <br /> Photographer of Airebome Imagery, Barry Weber shared a slide show of pictures he has <br /> taken of the youth at the skate park in Lions Park.
