City, Council Nfinutes <br />May 13, 2002 <br /> <br /> Mayor Fdinzing opened the public hearing for the Trunk t45gh~vay 10/Waco Street <br /> signalization project. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Stewart Wilson, 17975 Troy Street, Elk River - questioned if there was a precedent in <br />assessing adjacent landowners for signalization improvements and questioned how this <br />intersection compares with other intersections. <br /> <br />Terry, Maurer indicated that the city has not assessed landowners for signalization <br />improvements, but has charged developers of commercial properties for signal <br />improvements. Nix. Maurer commented on four examples of developers paying for all or <br />part of a signal. <br /> <br />Stewart '~Vilson questioned the cost of this signal compared to other signals. Nfl:. \Vilson <br />indicated that he is in favor of the project. <br /> <br />There being no further comments, Mayor I4dinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 02-38 <br />ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT IN THE MATTER OF THE TH 10/WACO <br />STREET SIGNALIZATION IMPROVEMENT OF 2002. COUNCILMEMBER <br />KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the assessment public hearing. There being no one for or against the <br />matter, Mayor I<linzing closed the assessment public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 02-39 <br />ADOPTING THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR THE TH 10/WACO <br />STREET SIGNALIZATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. COUNClLMEMBER <br />DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 02-40 <br />APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING THE <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS IN THE MATTER OF THE TH 10/WACO <br />STREET SIGNALIZATION IMPROVEMENT OF 2002. COUNCILMEMBER <br />TVEITE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.2. Consider Authorization for Public Safety,, Utilities, and City, Hall Projects to go Out for Bids <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the information presented by Tushie Montgomery <br />Architects regarding the new public safety building and the city hall remodehng and <br />additions. The City Administrator requested authorization to go out for bids for the new <br />public safety building and city hall remodehng and additions on May 16, receive bids on June <br />6 and have the Council consider bids on June 16. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE GOING OUT FOR <br />BIDS FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING, CITY HALL REMODELING <br />AND ADDITIONS ON MAY 16 AND RECEIVING THE BIDS ON JUNE 6. <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
