11 1-1 <br /> __....f .i_4 t. ..�. r..v..1 <br /> MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER <br /> ENERGY CITY ENERGY DESIGN SUBCOMMITTEE <br /> HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> THURSDAY, April 4, 2013 <br /> Members Present: Commissioners Dennis Chuba and Tom Sagstetter <br /> Members Absent: None <br /> Staff Present: Environmental Administrator Rebecca Haug <br /> 1. Call Meeting To Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Energy <br /> Design Subcommittee was called to order at 10:05 a.m. <br /> 2. Discussion <br /> The group revised the flier 'th the additions from the March 20,2013 Energy City <br /> Commission as well as sOm new ideas from the committee members such as check boxes <br /> and links to associations wi additional information. Once the flier has been finalized,it <br /> will be placed on the Energy City website and be given to the Building Division staff and <br /> Economic Development for distribution. <br /> The committee discussed the city purchasing an electric vehicle or golf cart as a <br /> demonstration with graphics on the side. Staff will discuss with the chair of the city's fleet <br /> committee. <br /> The committee also discussed the need to have a demonstration at Hockey Day MN such as <br /> solar panels on a concession stand,a solar cooker for hamburgers and hot dogs and LED <br /> lighting for the hockey rinks. <br /> The committee also questioned the Vision and if the Visionary Subcommittee wants the <br /> • vision to focus solely on energy or include water conservation and other sustainability <br /> practices. <br /> 3. Schedule Next Meeting <br /> The next meeting will be scheduled as needed. <br /> 4.
