Additional participants included the City Council,HRA and staff. <br /> The group identified the following 2009-2012 priority issues/objectives: <br /> • Industrial Development-Attract new businesses and support existing businesses to increase <br /> the city's industrial tax base and employment base <br /> • Redevelopment&Rehabilitation- Undertake strategies that facilitate rehabilitation and <br /> redevelopment of deteriorating commercial and residential areas to ensure private <br /> reinvestment and sustainability <br /> • Community Image&Marketing- Identify desired image and strategies to effect necessary <br /> changes to achieve that vision <br /> • Transportation-Advocate and support proactive planning for improvements to the local and <br /> area transportation system in a way that will complement economic growth <br /> Several strategies were assigned to support the objectives. Both the EDA and HRA approved the plan <br /> mid-2009. <br /> In September of 2010, a two-day visioning seminar was held with staff and Council Member Matt <br /> Westgaard.
