Park&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 3 <br /> April 11,2012 <br /> 8.3. Trott Brook Farms Home Association Monetary Donations <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker shared that the Trott Brook Farms <br /> Homeowners Association would like to donate $61,341 to go towards park improvements at <br /> Trott Brook Farms Park. This monetary donation will go towards a basketball court, court <br /> lighting and a drinking fountain within the park. <br /> MOVED BY COMMISSIONER AHLNESS AND SECONDED BY <br /> COMMISSIONER NIZIOLEK TO RECOMMEND TO CITY COUNCIL TO <br /> ACCEPT A MONETARY DONATION OF $61,341 FROM THE TROTT BROOK FARMS <br /> HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO CONSTRUCT A <br /> BASKETBALL COURT WITH LIGHTING AND A DRINKING FOUNTAIN. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 8.4. Lions Club Donation <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker shared that the Elk River Lions Club would <br /> like to donate up to 25-trees to the Parks and Recreation Department. The Lions Club will <br /> donate,plant, and maintain the trees for one year. <br /> MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NYSTROM AND SECONDED BY <br /> COMMISSIONER AHLNESS TO RECOMMEND TO CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT <br /> A DONATION OF UP TO 25-TREES FROM THE ELK RIVER LIONS CLUB. THE <br /> CLUB WILL WORK WITH THE PARKS DEPARTMENT FOR THE BEST LOCATION <br /> TO PLANT ALONG WITH MAINTAINING THE TREES FOR ONE YEAR. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 9. Park/Program Highlights <br /> Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared an update regarding Pinewood Golf Course <br /> marketing efforts and shared that there are two new programs this summer. The first being <br /> the department will take registrations for the Community Garden and the second new <br /> program is a Co-Rec Softball League. <br /> 10. Announcements <br /> 11. Election of Chair and Vice Chair <br /> MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NIZIOLEK AND SECONDED BY <br /> COMMISSIONER KARLSEN TO NOMINATE DAVE ANDERSON TO BE <br /> COMMISSION CHAIR. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />
