Pazk & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />October 12, 2011 <br />Page 4 <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NIZIOLEK AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER ANDERSON TO RECOMMEND CITY COUNCIL TAKE <br />PARK DEDICATION AT 17.73 ACRES. <br />Commissioner Niziolek shared that he thought it was imperative that the <br />commission support the 17.73 acres for the community. The park dedication money <br />will benefit the community; the city council can than make the decision to back off if <br />they want to. <br />Commissioner Peterson expressed that it would be in their best interest to wait for <br />more data on how the acreage presented was amved at. <br />Commissioner Niziolek shared that he thought it was important to make a strong <br />statement and it would be setting a precedent. <br />Commissioner Niziolekwithdrew his first motion. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NYSTROM AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER KARLSEN TO TABLE THE DISCUSSION UNTIL THE <br />NOVEMBER MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />8. Information/Update Items <br />8.1. Community Events -None <br />8.2. Park/Program I-Iiehliehts <br />Parks Supervisor, Rodney Schreifels presented recently completed park projects. <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared that the 12`h annual Fright Night will be <br />held at Lions Park on Saturday, October 22°d from 6-9pm. <br />8.3. Bailey Point Update <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared that the city had received the DNR grant <br />for the acquisition funding of the Bailey Point property. <br />Recreation and Parks Director, Michael Hecker shared that there are conditions from <br />the land trust if the grant is accepted that will dictate what type of requirements there <br />will be when developing Bailey Point into a park Staff will be working with the <br />Land Trust and DNR and will bring the city council in November. <br />City CounciUPlamiing Conurvssion Review/Updates -None <br />
