Volunteer of the Month <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit presented Ann Johnson as the Volunteer of the <br />Month. <br />6. Recreation Manager's Report -Steve Benoit <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared the Elk River Senior Center report. <br />Mr. Benoit reported that fall programs have started and the use of the YMCA <br />gymnasium has increased <br />Mr. Benoit also shared that the recreation staff will be moving offices from Lions <br />Park Center to City Hall on Ckt. 13 and C~ct. 14. <br />7. Action/Discussion Items <br />7.1. Policv Issues <br />7.1.A. Bank of Elk River Sponsorship Program <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit outlined the Bank of Elk River Sponsorship <br />program and asked the Parks and Recreation Commission to support staff in <br />requesting $14,000 from The Bank of Elk River as a contribution for community <br />events. <br />Mr. Benoit shared the following additional benefits to the past sponsorship <br />arrangement. Fast, a dedication plaque recognizing The Bank of Elk River in <br />sponsoring the Riverfront Concerts in the downtown park; second, consider moving <br />the Farmer's Market from the Westbound Liquor store parking lot to downtown <br />near The Bank of Elk River. Third, The Bank of Elk River logo would be added to <br />youth league program t-shins along with "Proud Sponsor" above the logo and lastly, <br />The Bank of Elk River would like the recreation department to offer a new program <br />of Geocaching. This program would enhance the "Powered by Nature" brand that <br />would bring benefit to the community by using technologyand combining it with <br />the outdoors. <br />Commissioner Peterson asked who would do the maintenance of the Geocaching <br />caches. <br />Mr. Benoit shared that the Parks and Recreation staff would maintain the caches. <br />Mayor Dietz asked if the Farmer's Market would still be held on Thursday evenings <br />due to the crowds. <br />
