A potential common trash enclosure for area business use
• Potential public art integration
Options far wall treatments at existing adjacent building
Any other program features desired by HRA, stakeholders, and/or staff
HKGi will prepare illustrative plan graphics and vignette sketches that depict the concept design ideas for the downtown site. The
design alternatives will be integrated into a downtown map so that the scale and relationship of the design can be reviewed within the
context of the downtown. Costs for each of the design alternatives will be developed based cost data from similar built projects.
The plans along with related estimated costs will then be presented to the HRA at the April 2nd meeting for discussion. If necessary,
feedback will be integrated by modifying the preferred design option accordingly and resubmitting the design to staff,
This task will involve refinement of the preferred design into a simple drawing set (plans, sections, outline specifications) to facilitate
acquiring quotes from area contractors. While it is difficult to determine the complexity of this drawing set prior to selecting a design
for the site, I have included an estimate based on the design integrating relatively simple materials and construction techniques.
It is assumed that City staff will coordinate the solicitation of quotes for the improvements and will oversee the construction of the
project. HKGi is available to support the quote solicitation and construction oversight tasks if desired, and would be willing to work
hourly as needed to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with the design.
ROPOSED FEES
HKGi proposes to complete the above described scope of work for the following fees:
Task 1 -Understand What Exists and What is Desired $500.00
Task 2 -Explore the Alternatives and Related Costs $3,700.00
Task 3 - Prepare a Quote Package for the Design $2,300.00*
TOTAL PROPOSED PROJECT FEES:
$6,500.00
* More complex ideas would require additional drawings and detailing to ensure that they are constructed in accordance with the
desired design.
We look forward to working with the City of Elk River on this important community project. If you have any questions, please feel free
to contact meat 612.252.7125 or pawl@hkgi.com
Sincerely,
Hoisington Koegler Group Inc.
Paul Paige, RLA
Vice President
