Memo to Mayor and City Council/GP 97-5 <br />February 17, 1998 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />presented to the Economic Development Authority, the mobile home park <br />relocation costs will be $425,000. <br /> <br />Purpose of Public Hearing <br /> <br />The Closure Statement is being provided to the City Council in order to hold <br />a public hearing. The public hearing is the opportunity for residents of Elk <br />Terrace Mobile Home Court, Councilmembers or other interested parties to <br />submit input regarding the Closure Statement. <br /> <br />The Council's primary purpose is to: <br /> <br />"review the Closure Statement and evaluate what impact the park <br />closing may have on the displaced residents and the park owner". <br /> <br />Conclusion <br /> <br />Up to this point, the Council has taken the following actions: <br /> <br /> adopted an ordinance for closure of manufactured home parks <br />· approved an appraiser to appraise the remaining mobile homes <br />· held a public hearing to receive input <br />· staff has reviewed the Closure Statement for completeness <br /> <br />All of these actions were outcomes from the original public hearings in <br />response to the "impacts" of closing the mobile home park. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended the City Council take action on the following: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Accept the Closure Statement for Elk Terrace Mobile Home Court <br />("Park") dated December 4, 1997 as complete. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Acknowledge a public hearing has been held to review the Closure <br />Statement. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Evaluate the impacts the park closing has on the residents and park <br />owner. <br /> <br />fi\shrdoc\council\gp97.5.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
