6.14. The Contractor must comply with the City of Elk River's NPDES storm water <br />permit. As deemed necessary by the City Engineer, the Contractor will be required to <br />install silt fence, inlet protection, gravel entrances/exist, temporary ground cover, and <br />must meet all surface water management requirements. <br />6.15. In the event an unknown condition is encountered during the Project, the <br />Contractor must notify the HRA's project manager immediately. The appropriate <br />course of action will be determined and, if necessary, a change order must be authorized <br />prior to completing the work. <br />6.16. The Contractor will be responsible for taking the appropriate measures (i.e. <br />erecting and maintaining temporary fencing) to ensure that partially-demolished <br />buildings, debris piles, excavations, etc. are appropriately secured at the end of work <br />each day. <br />6.17. The contractor shall be responsible for the removal, storage, and replacement of <br />all signs, which may have to be moved during the work. The contractor shall provide <br />barricades, fences or guardrails to protect workers and the general public from <br />dangerous areas. <br />6.18. Working hours shall be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br />Work shall not be conducted on weekends unless approved by the HRA. <br />Section 7. Hazardous Materials Abatement <br />7.1. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all <br />Hazardous Materials on the Property in accordance with Minnesota Pollution Control <br />Agency regulations <br />Section 8. Demolition <br />8.1 The Contractor must conduct demolition in compliance with any state or federal <br />regulations governing demolition of structures containing lead-based paint. <br />8.2. The Contractor must use water sprinkling, temporary enclosures and other <br />suitable methods to keep dust and dirt from rising and scattering into the air. The <br />Contractor must comply with any and all governing regulations pertaining to <br />environmental protection. The Contractor must not use water as part of the demolition <br />process if it may create hazardous or objectionable conditions such as flooding or <br />pollution. <br />8.3. The Contractor must clean any adjacent structures and improvements of dust, dirt <br />and debris caused by demolition operations and must return adjacent areas to their <br />condition existing prior to the start of work. <br />5 <br />
