2011/2012 Snow Season Overtime/Compensatory Time Procedure <br />An estimate of overtime costs will be prepared and presented to Council to be included in the 2012 <br />budget. This will be for the snow removal/streets, parks, and building maintenance budgets. <br />Management maintains authority of overtime budgets and comp time banks. It is the division <br />manager's responsibility to manage their budget. Because different divisions have different <br />personnel needs, management may set maximum comp bank levels for their division. <br />Employees shall be informed prior to working overtime hours whether the hours will be paid as <br />overtime or banked as comp time. <br />Staff shall periodically monitor usage of overtime to ensure adequate funding is available to cover <br />planned or unplanned events and to notify council of potential shortfalls. <br />Comp hours earned shall be used as time off and may not be cashed out. <br />
