Twin Cities municipalities issued 542 residential building permits for 872 dwelling units <br />valued at $187.2 million last month, according to BATC. Compared with February 2005, permits and units <br />were up 15 and 19 percent, respectively, and value increased by 22 percent. Year-to-date totals through <br />February (1,155 permits, 1872 units, $390.2 million) are also ahead of last year's pace (1,082 permits, <br />1,678 units, $344.8 million). Woodbury issued the most permits last month (33), followed by Lakeville <br />(28), Brooklyn Park (27), Otsego (27) and Farmington (24). Planned unit leaders were Bloomington (125), <br />Woodbury (58), Elk River (45), Farmington (40) and Minneapolis (37).Multifamily housing accounted for <br />46 percent of February's planned units.
