Services, Inc., a data management, <br />administration and data processing business, plans to <br />expand its facility in Fergus Falls. The company <br />indicated in its Job Opportunity Building Zones (JOBZ) <br />agreement, that the expanded facility will add 50 new <br />jobs with wages and benefits averaging $10.23 per hour. <br />Amor Pork plans to add a new retail store on its farm in <br />Amor Township. Amor Pork has been steadily growing <br />its pork livestock business and began to branch out into <br />the wholesale/retail market in 1999. <br />r ~~ <br />~~~~ central SL Cloud's DCI Inc. <br />- i has partnered with a <br />French manufacturer, Pierre Guerin <br />SAS, to form a new biotechnology <br />systems manufacturing company, dci- <br />biolafitte LLC. The new company <br />will market a line of bioreactor and <br />fermenter systems for research and <br />manufacturing purposes for the <br />biotechnology industry in North, <br />Central and South America. DCI has <br />grown from 180 to 210 employees over <br />the last year preparing for this new <br />venhire. The French company will <br />provide design and technological <br />knowledge for the products, while DCI <br />will manufacture them from their <br />facilities. <br />~~~ ~~~~~1'etroArea G&D <br />1~3,at;j Integrated Lrc., <br />headquartered in Morton, Illinois, signed a lease for <br />122,000 square feet in a building in Anoka Enterprise Park. <br />The move will result in 80 new industrial jobs for the city <br />of Anoka. G&D is a distributor and assembler of parts <br />and accessories for Caterpillar and other heavy machines. <br />Gaines & Hanson Printing Company, New Hope, has <br />received a grant of $340,000 from the state Dislocated <br />Worker Program to provide services to former workers. <br />Intake meetings delivered in both English and Spanish, <br />counseling sessions, job-seeking skills training, and <br />occupational skills classroom [raining are available to 100 <br />eligible former employees affected by the closing of <br />Gaines & Hanson Printing. Customized services are <br />targeted toward those who are experiencing barriers to <br />getting new jobs due to age or length of employment with <br />the business; those who are under-qualified due to a lack <br />of current skills or education; and those who would <br />benefit from English as a Second Language classes. <br />After experiencing 15 percent a~ ' ' <br />growth over the last four years, ~~ E <br />Cybex International, Inc., an exercise equipment <br />manufacturer, will be building a new state-of-the-art <br />manufacturing facility in Owatonna. Manufacturing <br />capacity is being expanded to support canent and future <br />business projections. The company plans to build a <br />340,000-square-foot facility located on 36 acres of <br />property. Construction of the new building is <br />scheduled to begin in August with <br />E~ ~fr; ~ completion projected for <br />,a ~~„~ -~ ~_ ~ July 2007. <br />33 ~;~of~j~~`r At a June 8 meeting of the <br />!'~ji;'i•~3~i~'~ Albert Lea Plannin Commission, <br />"'~6~~ Albert Lea Medical Center laid out <br />a plan for expansion. The plan calls <br />for adding two levels to the clinic <br />building, and about 13,000 additional <br />square feet by the medical center's <br />entrance. This additional space would <br />contain an eye services center, an expanded <br />outpatient pharmacy, and a rotunda with <br />benches. Pending approval in August, <br />g construction would begin in September <br />with an expected completion by the <br />first quarter of 2008. The medical <br />center has about 1,300 employee <br />currently. <br />AIGna Hospitals and Clinics plans to fund the design <br />and construction of a new hospital in Owatonna. The <br />new facility will be connected to the Owatonna Clinic <br />26th Street site, replacing the existing hospital built in <br />1931. Allina plans to break ground at the beginning of <br />2007, with construction scheduled to be completed in <br />late 2008. The new hospital will feature 38 beds and <br />four operating units, and will utilize electronic medical <br />records. <br />EroGuard, Inc., in the business of erosion control and <br />blanket manufacturing, is planning to build a new <br />facility in Mapleton.
