I-L l2. EXPOSURE TO HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES <br />Any employee routinely exposed to hazardous substances or harmful physical agents as <br />defined in the Minnesota Employee Right to Know Act (MINN. STAT. § 182.675) shall be <br />trained before being assigned or reassigned work exposing the employee to such <br />substances or agents and shall be given training annually thereafter. Training shall <br />include an explanation of how and where information about hazards is stored in the work <br />place, how the hazards are labeled, and where to obtain specific information. The <br />supervisor (or other designated employee) shall provide for such training and for <br />compliance with the Minnesota Employee Right to Know Act, including the <br />establishment of specific policies to insure compliance with the state law and regulations. <br />An employee acting in good faith has the right to refuse to work under conditions which <br />the employee reasonably believes present an imminent danger of death or serious <br />physical harm to the employee. <br />1<2.13. SOLICITATION AND DISTRIBUTION <br />The Utilities intends to establish and maintain a safe and productive business <br />environment and to prevent interference with the work of its employees. This policy <br />prohibits solicitation and the distribution of literature on Utilities property by non- <br />employees. In addition, this policy addresses the limited circumstances under which <br />solicitation and the distribution of literature on Utilities property by employees will be <br />permitted, and it addresses the wearing and display of items, posting material on Utilities <br />bulletin boards, and certain uses of the Utilities' computer, email, and other resources. <br />The term solicitation means any oral or electronic communication that encourages, <br />advocates, demands, +-or requests any position or action or contribution of <br />money, time, effort, personal involvement or membership in any organization or the sale <br />or purchase of any merchandise or service. <br />The term distribution means posting, handing out, or otherwise distributing any written <br />material in hard copy. <br />Non-Employees <br />Non-employees of the Utilities are strictly prohibited from engaging on Utilities premises <br />in: i) trespassing; ii) the solicitation of any person; and iii) the distribution of any written <br />material. Any violation or attempted violation of this policy by anon-employee should <br />be reported immediately to the on-site supervisor. <br />Employees <br />Employees are prohibited from solicitation, for any purpose, during the working time of <br />any employee involved in making or receiving the solicitation. <br />!0 <br />a~+,=~ruu <br />
