contingent upon the employee's toleration of or acquiescence to <br />unwelcome sexual advances; <br />repeated, unwelcome sexual flirtations, propositions, or invitations to <br />social engagements; or <br />unwelcome and objectionable physical contact or physical proximity. <br />Scope of Policy <br />The Utilities prohibits harassment of any type or form. This policy prohibits same sex <br />harassment aetdas well as harassment by members of the opposite sex. In addition, this <br />policy prohibits sexual harassment and any other form of harassment by any individual, <br />including Utilities managers, employees, co-workers, and third parties such as clients, <br />elected officials, consultants, contractors or vendors who deal with the Utilities' <br />employees. <br />RepArtingProeedure for e°ortine Harassment <br />The Utilities wants to resolve any problems, but it can do so only if it is aware of them. <br />The Utilities encourages any individual who believes he/she is being harassed to report <br />any and all incidents of perceived harassment. <br />If at any time you feel you are being harassed, you should immediately contact: <br />your supervisor; and/or <br />another Utilities manager (including any superintendent of the Utilities or other <br />representative as defined in Section 21322 of this Handbook); and/or <br />the Human Resources Representative (at the City of Elk River). <br />Any ro~"`~"Utilities manager or ~'~'~ ^~~°^`°=^ther person who receives a report under <br />this policy is required to communicate the matter to the Human Resources Representative <br />immediately. <br />Your report of harassment may be oral or written; in either case, it is important that you <br />state that your report is being made under this harassment policy, or that it concerns <br />harassment. You may choose to whom you make the report; that choice, however, must <br />be made from the list of individuals named above. <br />The Utilities will promptly investigate harassment complaints as appropriate, and take <br />other appropriate action.
