SECTION 02220 <br />DEMOLITION <br />PART 1: GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRII'TION <br />A. All Work included in this Section shall be performed in accordance with the following <br />paragraphs, as well as the General Requirements as set forth in Division 1 of these <br />Specifications, and the requirements of all of these Contract Documents. <br />B. The Work covered by this Section of the Specifications consists of, but is not limited to <br />furnishing all supervision, labor, equipment, and materials and performing all operations <br />necessary to: <br />Disconnect, plug, and cap utilities at the Property line. <br />2. Remove asbestos, lead paint and other regulated building materials prior to demolition <br />in accordance with Sections 02110. If waste materials or asbestos are encountered <br />during demolition, remove in accordance with Section 02110. <br />3. Demolish all structures located on the Property to the elevation of the lowest floor <br />elevation. Remove concrete basement floors and foundation; <br />4. Salvage, load, and recycle metal scrap and other salvageable materials; <br />5. Load, transport, and dispose of all demolition materials and rubble; <br />1.02 JOB CONDITIONS <br />A. Conduct demolition, the removal of debris and rubble, and rough grading operations to <br />minimize erosion in a manner that will ensure minimum interference, disruption, and damage <br />to City streets, and curbs and walkways. Avoid disrupting adjacent residences and properties. <br />Do not close or obstruct streets or walks without the permission from authorities having <br />jurisdiction. Comply with all requirements of such authorities. <br />B. CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for evaluating existing facilities and Property <br />conditions and considering all factors that may affect-the progress or performance of the <br />Work. <br />C. CONTRACTOR shall become the OWNER of materials generated by the demolition of the <br />facilities. <br />D. Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and hazardous materials, and other waste are not <br />included in this Section and are addressed in Section 02110 of these Specifications. <br />
