FIRE COMPENSATION <br /> MAYOR'S PROPOSAL <br /> SEPTEMBER 30,1997 <br /> <br />Increase pension contribution and pay rate by approximately 6% on January <br />1, 1998, and January 1, 1999. Future increases would be considered with <br />adoption of the City pay resolution. <br /> <br />Holiday Pay - double time for emergency hours on New Years Day, <br />Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and <br />Christmas Day. <br /> <br />Educational Incentive Pay - Additional pay will be provided for <br />Firefighters who complete more than the mandatory training/education <br />hours. Pay will be according to the following schedule. All Educational <br />Incentive training hours must be approved by the Fire Chief. Minimum <br />required hours for First Responder and Firefighter One are not to be <br />included in the Educational Incentive pay training hours. <br /> <br />Hours of training Additional per hour pay <br />60- 134 $.25 <br />135 - 224 .25 <br />225 - 339 .25 <br />340 and over .25 <br /> <br />Pay Rates - Captains will receive an additional $.50 per hour above the <br />Firefighter pay rate. Assistant Chiefs will receive an additional $1.00 per <br />hour above the Firefighter pay rate. <br /> <br /> Rates of Pay <br />Position 1998 1999 <br />Probationary firefighter $8.00 $8.00 <br />Firefighter $8.50 $9.00 <br /> <br />Pension Contribution - 1998 - $20,150 <br /> 1999 - $21,350 <br /> <br /> <br />
