Additionally, lateral water improvements are to be assessed as part of <br />the Highland Road water improvements. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />Water and sewer lateral connection - One property owner on Orono <br />Road opted to connect into city water and sewer in 1997. Since this <br />property had not been assessed for lateral benefit, the property owner <br />has signed a waiver authorizing the city to levy assessments for the <br />lateral water and sewer improvements allowing him to connect to city <br />utilities. <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />1997 Garbage Assessments - Attached is a schedule of the 1997 <br />garbage assessments. These assessments are for property owners who <br />had delinquent balances as of September 1. The total amount assessed <br />is approximately $30 less than the amount assessed in 1996. Many of <br />the property owners being assessed have been on the assessment roll <br />for unpaid garbage services in past years. <br /> <br />South Joplin Street Improvements - The developer of Country Crossing <br />3ra and 4th Additions was required to pay one half of the street <br />improvement cost for Joplin, south of Mississippi Road. The <br />developer's share of the cost of this improvement is $97,178.38. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />The City Council is asked to approve the special assessment reapportionment <br />for Country Crossing 4th Addition and to approve the attached resolutions <br />levying special assessments as outlined above. <br /> <br />\\elkriver\sys\shrdoc\specasse.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
