Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due cai1 and notice thereof, the regular meeting oft. he Elk River <br />Heritage Preservation Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Consider 7/10/03 Agend~ <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. <br />COMMISSIONER GONGOLL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider 6/12/03 Minutes <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/12/03 <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. COMMISSIONER GONGOLL SECONDED <br />TH-E MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider Items on Planning Commission 7/22/03 Aaend,q <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the items on the 7/22/03 Planning Commission agenda <br />and felt that most of the items did not have potential conflicts with any known <br />cultural or historic resources with some exceptions. <br /> <br />The Commission also discussed the revised downtown architectural standards, <br />which they felt were created to maintain the character of this area. They felt that <br />allowing 45% to 50% ora development in the downtown area to be four stories <br />was an economic concession, wkich compromised the intent of the standards and <br />would change the character of the area. Further, they strongly felt that the <br />Utility's building played an important role in the development of Elk River and <br />should be preserved. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO RECOMMENTD THE <br />FOLLOWING CONDITION BE PLACED ON THE coNDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT FOR KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN: "ANY ITEM OR <br />CONDITION FOUND THAT INDICATES THE SITE IS LIKELY TO <br />YIELD INFOR3{ATION IMPORTANT TO PRE-HISTORY OR HISTORY <br />SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE CITY IMMEDIATELY.
