Call Meeting to Order Pursuant to due cai1 and notice thereof, the regular meeting oft. he Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Consider 7/10/03 Agend~ COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. COMMISSIONER GONGOLL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Consider 6/12/03 Minutes COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/12/03 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. COMMISSIONER GONGOLL SECONDED TH-E MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Consider Items on Planning Commission 7/22/03 Aaend,q The Commission reviewed the items on the 7/22/03 Planning Commission agenda and felt that most of the items did not have potential conflicts with any known cultural or historic resources with some exceptions. The Commission also discussed the revised downtown architectural standards, which they felt were created to maintain the character of this area. They felt that allowing 45% to 50% ora development in the downtown area to be four stories was an economic concession, wkich compromised the intent of the standards and would change the character of the area. Further, they strongly felt that the Utility's building played an important role in the development of Elk River and should be preserved. COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG MOVED TO RECOMMENTD THE FOLLOWING CONDITION BE PLACED ON THE coNDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN: "ANY ITEM OR CONDITION FOUND THAT INDICATES THE SITE IS LIKELY TO YIELD INFOR3{ATION IMPORTANT TO PRE-HISTORY OR HISTORY SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE CITY IMMEDIATELY.
