THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman discussed with the Council the need to add funds to the city <br />development reserve. (Mayor Duitsman also advised the City Council of two <br />9/30/97 meetings he has scheduled with Guardian Angels and the Fire <br />Department.) <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that Mr. Chuba should proceed with the <br />development application that he feels is best with the understanding that staff is <br />prepared to recommend that his property, preferably in con]unction with the <br />property immediately to the west, be removed from the city urban service district. <br /> <br />Eastern Area - The City Engineer reviewed the official map proposal that will be <br />presented in a public hearing on October 6. <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the 171s~ and Highway 10 signal justification report. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO HAVE THE CITY ENGINEER BEGIN THE <br />SIGNAL JUSTIFICATION REPORT COVERING THE ITEMS NOTED IN THE SEPTEMBER 19, <br />1997 LE'rI'ER TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 10 <br />AND 171sT AVENUE. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />The City Engineer and the City Administrator reviewed the services that can be <br />provided by Evergreen Land Services Company as it relates to the acquisition of <br />property. The property assumed to be needed to be acquired first is the area <br />between 171s~ and 175th Avenues so that a road connection east of the railroad <br />tracks can be made in this area. If the official map is approved on 10/6/97, then <br />a request to hire Evergreen Land Services Company will be formally presented to <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />City Planner Steve Ach reviewed the status of the development proposals for the <br />trailer court area and the Waddy Schulze property. <br /> <br />Director of Economic Development Paul Steinman reviewed the Economic <br />Development Strategic Plan for business park activities in the eastern area of the <br />city. <br /> <br />City Cost Issues and Source of Funds - The City Administrator briefly mentioned <br />some land acquisition issues for streets and business park activities and noted a <br />concern over establishing priorities for projects as a lack of funding is available for <br />all the discussed and desired projects. <br /> <br /> <br />
