Staffer ates • <br />There were no staff updates. <br />Mayor Dietz announced that the City Council will be holding two closed meetings per MN <br />Statute 13D.05 to discuss the lawsuit involving the Elk River Landfill (Attorney Client <br />Privilege) and to discuss the city's possible purchase of parcels 75-404-0160, 75-405-0540, <br />75-405-0545, and 75-405-0550. <br />Mayor Dietz then called a recess of the regular city council meeting at 7:15 p.m. in order to <br />move to the Uppertown Conference Room to conduct the joint meeting with the Utilities <br />Commission. <br />Mayor Dietz opened the joint City Council meeting with the Utilities Commission at 7:20 <br />p.m. <br />6. JOINT MEETING WITH UTII.ITIES COMMISSION <br />6.1. Elk River Municipal Utilities' CAPX2020 Brooking-Twin Cities Transmission Project <br />Investment Options <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities is considering increasing their investment allocation in the <br />CAPX2020 Brooking-Twin Cities Transmission project. An increase in allocation would <br />require Utilities Commission approval and Council approval. Mr. Adams presented the staff <br />report. He introduced Larry Blaine, Chief Financial Officer from Central Minnesota <br />Municipal Power Agenry (CMMPA). Mr. Blaine presented a Power Point presentation • <br />explaining the project. <br />Mr. Adams stated the project would be discussed at the next day's Utilities Commission <br />meeting and he would provide Council with the results of that discussion at the upcoming <br />joint meeting of the Utilities Commission and City Council on March 14. <br />Mayor Dietz adjourned the joint meeting of the Utilities Commission and City Council at <br />8:52 p.m. <br />10.
