Rivers Edge Meeting Minutes December 1, 2010 <br />Meeting was called to order at 3PM at Edward Jones Conference Room. Members present: Nicole Fox <br />(Nicole's Salon), Sandi Yeado (Edward Jones), Fred McCoy (McCoy's Pub), Jim Rudolph(Bank of Elk <br />River), Annie Deckert (City of ER Economic Development Assistant), Wendy Simenson (Kemper <br />Drug)Tony Mikols (Dare's)Stephanie Albin (City of ER Park and Rec),Tanna Anderson (First National <br />Bank), Shirley & Vivian (The Great Room) <br />Treasurer's Report: $3,570.71 <br />Secretary's Report: Fred will bring minutes to next meeting. <br />City Update: Annie Deckert brought us information on upcoming City events in December. She also told us <br />that The City of Elk River is creating a citywide branding committee to help promote the vision of the City. <br />Downtown Parking Permits will need to be renewed in December. <br />The Energy Expo will be held on March 5th from lOAM to 2PM at Elk River High School. Ron Schara will <br />be speaking. RiversEdge again has the opportunity to have a booth and offer items for the prize wheel. Annie <br />also encouraged the Arts Alliance to come up with some "Art from recycled objects" that could be <br />highlighted. We need people to volunteer to set up and sit at the RiversEdge Booth from l OAM to 2PM. <br />The City will be setting up a recycling container for pop/water bottles downtown in the spring before the <br />concert series starts. <br />Stephanie Alban Park and Rec: Park and Rec will be hiring a Santa this year instead of using a park <br />employee. We need trees and decorations for the Park. We could get some this year to use again in the <br />future. Park and Rec has a chair for Santa. The Sleigh will be put in the park. The Great Room has artificial <br />trees we could borrow. Sandi said that she has tree stands that would be available to use. Fred and Robin said <br />they would look into borrowing a real tree. People who can help set up should be in the park at LOAM on <br />Saturday Dec 4th. Mary Bakken is our contact for Gifts Anonymous and will have containers in the park for <br />gifts. Wendy will confirm with Hemker's for the animals. <br />Main Street Preservation: Nicole is working on facebook page and she and Wendy are planning to get <br />together to look at website options and to see if there is a way to pay dues online. <br />New Business <br />ArtSoup: Is Scheduled for Saturday June 19, 2011 in downtown. Stephanie reminded us that a request needs <br />to be made with Tina from the City to reserve the park that day. <br />Other: Uniquely Yours is closing on December 4th . We will miss Donna's presence downtown. <br />The Bank of Elk River was recognized for their extra contribution to help support the Holiday Downtown <br />Celebration as well as their putting Shop Downtown Elk River in their Bob Radio spot for the celebration <br />and afterwards. <br />First National Financial was recognized for their extra contribution to help support the Holiday Downtown <br />Celebration as well as the time and talent that Tanna took to design and print the poster for the event. <br />Robin was recognized for going out and procuring and "planting" the flower pots in a winter style. <br />Also a Big Thank You to the City of Elk River and Stephanie for all her extra work in getting the Downtown <br />Holiday Celebration put together. <br />The meeting was adjourned.
