ver
MEMORANDUM
TO: Park and Recreation Commission
FROM: Michele McPhersol4; Director of Planning
DATE: February I I, 2004
SUBJECT: Royal Valley Park Update
Attachment
• January 26, 2004 to David and Barbara Burandt
At the direction of the Commission, the attached letter was sent to Mr. and Mrs. Burandt
regarding the pasturing of their cows in Royal Valley Park. Mr. Burandt contacted me via
phone indicating that he would be willing to install a woven wire fence in lieu of the
Commission waiving the $100 annual fee for pasturing, in order to allow his cows to
continue to pasture in Royal Valley Park outside of the newly planted prairie area. He
indicated his willingness to work with Commissioner Anderson to ensure that the fence was
placed outside the boundary of the newly planted prairie.
It may appropriate from a maintenance standpoint to allow the cows to be pastured until
such time that the Conuivssion is ready to more fully develop the park with trails and other
amenities.
Staff requests that the Commission provide staff with direction regarding this request from
Mr. Burandt.
S:\PLANNING\Pazks\Iioyal Valley\02 11 04 memo pasture.doc
